26 x Unit Ka Band Array- 150Mbps Head End

Auriga deploys a 26 x Unit, Ka Band Satellite Array, installed to provide an aggregated 150Mbps Head End facility at “Hillhead 2014”-

The system was used to service the internet requirements of many of the Event’s 450 Exhibitors, for the Critical Comms Applications of Event Organisers, and to provide access to Online coverage of the 2014 Football World Cup, which interceded the Event.

With each, independent satellite unit providing up to 18 Mbps Down and 6 Mbps Up, the combined Array of 26 Units was provisioned to accommodate a requirement for a 150 Mbps head end, which it surpassed.

In 2014, Auriga provided over 250 Events with Internet Backhaul services via economical IP satellite throughout the world. With low-cost data packages available by the Month, and with dedicated 1:1 connectivity available by the Hour (Pending Location) connectivity to suit all Event Durations and Budgets can be provisioned rapidly, without the delays often involved in procuring terrestrial lines.

Video Delivery to BT Tower via economical Ka Band IP Satellite

In 2014 Auriga integrated the economical, Ka Band, Eutelsat Tooway Satellite Platform into the Auriga Kore IP video delivery network centered at London Telehouse North.

Via introducting a private fibre cross-connect from the Hub in Turin through to Auriga's core network epictenre at London Telehouse, Auriga's private IP address ranges were ported through to the Ka Band Platform.

Firstly, this IP topography means that Ka Satellite users can now hand-off video privately to Broadcasters with an IP presence at London Telehouse North, while benefiting from the static, UK Announced, professionally peering that Auriga provides.

Secondly, the network topography means that Ka Satellite Users including Broadcasters, Web Casters and Digital Media Agencies can now hand off MPEG-4 video directly to BT Tower- the UK's prime video delivery Hub to which all Major Broadcasters have access.

In 2014, Aurig has facilitated over 500 Video Delivery Events to BT Tower from both terrestrial and remote locations for a fraction of conventional DVB OB costs.

Auriga Kore Managing Director Stephen Flood will be taking to the stage at this years IBC2013 Conference with a presentation on the reliability of IP.

Stephen's session: In IP We Trust will be held on Monday 16th September 15:30-17:00.

Auriga designs and installs fully equipped HD Broadcast facility in St. James Theatre

Auriga Kore recently completed the design and installation of in-house fully equipped HD Broadcast Studios in London’s newly built St. James Theatre.

For live events and live audience shows, Auriga designed the studio gallery to support multi camera operation, interfacing with OB trucks and for direct connectivity to major playout centres including Stephen Street, BBC Television Centre with the option of switching to BT Tower.  Fibre connectivity with direct peering to limelight and Akamai for webcasts allows further versatility and we believe it to be the only theatre in London to provide an in-house broadcast and webcast facility of this kind.
